Wifi Hifi: Mobile Klinik Acquires Device Care

Professional smartphone repair shop Mobile Klinik has acquired Device Care, a smartphone accessories and repair chain with six locations in Ontario and Quebec. The acquisition was for an undisclosed amount.

Mobile Klinik is a walk-in device repair retailer, and Canada’s only national Samsung- and LG-authorized in-warranty while-you-wait repair retailer. The 52-store chain offers no-appointment-needed, trusted professional smartphone and tablet repair for almost all makes and models of devices. Most repairs can be done in under an hour.

Device Care offers consumers a broad assortment of top-quality branded and private-label smartphone accessories, including cases, screen protection, power cables, headphones, speakers and gadgets, as well as smartphone and tablet repair services.

The Device Care network will initially include six existing retail locations: five are in Ontario, in the CF Toronto Eaton Centre, CF Sherway Gardens, Upper Canada Mall, Cambridge Centre, and Oshawa Gateway Centre, and one in Montreal, at Place Montreal Trust.

Mobile Klinik, which already has 52 stores in major shopping malls, select Walmart stores, and other high-traffic retail locations across the country, plans to have over 200 stores across Canada. In May, the retailer completed $27.5 million in Series C financing.
