When Your iPhone Won’t Turn On

When Your iPhone Won’t Turn On

We’ve all experienced it: that moment when you reach for your phone and nothing happens. You frantically fiddle with the power button to give it a jolt back to life and…no response. Stress hits you like a lightning bolt as you recall all the precious data tucked away in your phone.

What do you do when your iPhone won’t turn on? Here are a few tricks that tend to work.

Charge It

It may sound obvious, but you’d be surprised just how many people skip to hysteria before trying to plug in their phones. Even when it seems like a dead battery doesn’t make sense considering you charged it not too long ago, sometimes that extra jolt of energy can be all that it needs to readjust and spring back to life. Confirm that the cord and outlet are actually providing power by testing it with another device. If so, plug in your iPhone and leave it for at least 15 minutes.

Reset It

If attempts to charge it have failed, your next step should be to perform a hard reset of the phone. If you’ve never done this before, you’ll need to hold down the power and home buttons simultaneously for 5-10 seconds. Press the power button and the Apple logo should appear on the screen. At this point your phone should be back to normal.

Restore It

When your phone displays an error screen with a USB cable and iTunes logo, your iOS software needs to be reset. It may have become corrupt and may prevent you from performing normal functions. So connect your iPhone to your computer to access iTunes, download the latest iOS software and install it.

Bring It to the Experts

If your iPhone still doesn’t work, bring it to the certified repair technicians at your nearest Mobile Klinik location. At Mobile Klinik, expert technicians will perform an immediate diagnosis and prepare a personalized quote. They will figure out why your device is not working and fix whatever is needed to get it running like new. There is no need for an appointment – just walk in with your device and walk out with an iPhone that actually works.
